# FAQ

**What is MCP?**\
The Model Context Protocol — an open standard that lets AI models call external tools. Add GEOMETRY once and any MCP client (Claude, Cursor, and others) can query the engine mid-conversation.

**Do I need an account to try?**\
No. Paste `https://mcp.geometry.app/mcp` and ask. Plans/keys come later when you want a metered Free plan or paid tier — see [Connect & manage your key](/connect-and-keys).

**Is the data stable?**\
Yes — that's the product. The date spine and its systems are pre-computed and versioned; the same call returns the same answer today, tomorrow, and next year. The beta label covers tooling and quotas, not the data.

**What's cardology?**\
A birth-date-to-playing-card system (Cards of Destiny tradition) with a full relationship/connection layer. GEOMETRY serves a machine-readable version of it.

**Is this astrology? Do you claim it predicts anything?**\
GEOMETRY serves the *data* of traditional symbolic systems — deterministically. What it means is your product's call. Where we test patterns empirically, we publish what we find, including negative results.

**What does it cost?**\
Soft launch: paste the free MCP URL and go (no account). Metered Free / paid plans and portal keys roll out with self-serve billing. Starter pricing target: **\$28/mo**.

**Where's my data stored? Do you see my users' questions?**\
GEOMETRY is a read-only reference lookup. Calls carry birth dates or names as inputs, return JSON, and aren't used to build profiles.

**Where is the full contract / raw JSON?**\
Teaching examples live in these docs. On the wire, every successful tool call returns the **complete** JSON (Tool 2: only `birth_date` — no `full=true`). “Full payload” and “raw JSON” mean that object. Chat agents may summarize after they receive it; ask for the raw tool result if you need it pasted. Engine internals stay private.

**How were moon / season / retrograde dates calculated?**\
Offline with the standard **Swiss Ephemeris** Python stack (widely used in production astronomy/astrology), then stored as lookups. Requests do not run a live ephemeris.

**How do I get help?**\
Open **[Support](/support)** — GitHub Issues on the public docs repo. That is the only public builder channel (limits spam). Billing → Stripe customer portal.
